Flexible and Accurate
Tincture Dosing
Knowing how much tincture to take can be confusing, but it doesn’t have to be. Herbs will affect everyone in slightly different ways. This is why we can’t give general dosing instructions that work for everybody. The following tips should help you find your perfect dose within a relatively short period of time. Keep in mind that your required dose may change over time. Consuming tincture with healthy fatty foods such as nuts, yogurt, avocado, cheese, will minimize the delayed onset of desired effects.

Full Spectrum Cannabis
The cannabis plant consists of a myriad of cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and other organic compounds. While we tend to focus heavily on CBD and THC, it is this diversity of compounds that we still know so little about that work together to make the best and most effective extracts to receive the full therapeutic benefits. Research has demonstrated that whole plant cannabis extracts are more effective than single molecule extracts, so we know that the capturing the most representative extract of the whole plant is going to be the most effective form of an extract.

Feel The Difference
Cold Ethanol Extractions
At Humboldt Apothecary, our tablets and topicals are made using a cold ethanol wash. Ethanol is a plant-based solvent that is made via a process of plant fermentation. It is highly efficient at extracting a wide range of plant compounds within the cannabis plant. Because alcohols are bipolar in nature, they are able to form bonds with both water-soluble and fat-soluble plant compounds, making it the only solvent capable of preserving the chemical ratios as they exist in the plant in nature. Because of this, it is the best choice for someone looking to reap the full benefits of a full-spectrum extract for health and wellness.
Less is More
Most users find that they get more benefits from a lower dose of this type of extraction.
Plant Synergy
There is a wide range of active plant constituents that are present in the type of extract.

THC & CBD
TETRAHYDROCANNABINOL (THC)
THC refers to a psychotropic cannabinoid found in the Cannabis plant. It’s a chemical compound that’s responsible for the euphoric high feeling people experience when consuming Cannabis. Basically, THC works by binding to cannabinoid receptors in the brain and nervous system to produce psychoactive effects. When consuming THC, you may experience a range of short-term effects that may include euphoric feelings and can cause anxious feelings for some individuals. If you experience an uncomfortable feeling when consuming THC, your body may react better to a CBD dominant formula.
Scientists have found that THC has a multitude of therapeutic benefits including, but not limited to the following: the ability to fight tumors, sleep aid, appetite stimulant, reduces nausea, decreases pain, and it’s a potent anti-inflammatory aid. Inflammation is an underlying factor that contributes to many modern diseases.
CANNABIDIOL (CBD)
CBD is one of at least 113 active cannabinoids identified in cannabis. It is a major phytocannabinoid, accounting for up to 40% of the plant’s extract. CBD does not appear to have the same intoxicating effects found in THC, but it still has an effect on your body. The medical potential of CBD is amazing! Trials have shown that CBD shows promise for patients with chronic conditions such as cancer, epilepsy, and auto-immune disorders. It’s also been shown to help with inflammation, depression, anxiety, ADD, acts as a neuroprotectant, and much more.
